BAVARIAN SMALL LOAVES

I continue in the Bavarian spirit after the success of the pretzels. Soon after I made the pretzels, I found this beautiful recipe for similar, but simpler loaves. Delicious, soft and easy to make, everybody loves them. You can use the same dough to make pretzels.
 Ingredients:

Dough
  • 500 g flour
  • 250 ml of warm water
  • 100 ml of oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • half a cube of fresh yeast (20 g)
Water for dipping
  • 500 ml of water
  • 1 and a half tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
For topping
  • coarse salt
  • a little butter to coat
Preparation:
  1. Dissolve the yeast in the water with the sugar.
  2. Then add the rest of the dough ingredients and mix in the dough. Knead a soft non stick dough. Allow it to rise for 1 hour.
  3. Then divide it into 16 pieces.
  4. Form a ball from each piece and flatten it slightly with your palm. Leave them uncovered for about 20 minutes.
  5. Boil the water with salt and soda. Place each ball in the boiling water for 10 seconds and place it first on a towel, then place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  6. Cut each loaf 3 times with a sharp knife, sprinkle with coarse salt and bake at 180-200 C degrees for about half an hour or until well browned.
  7. After baking, coat with butter.
