GIRAFFE ROLL

This is one of the most interesting desserts that came out from my kitchen. Kids love it because of the unique giraffe print so it's ideal to prepare it for birthday or other celebrations for your kids. The filling is optional, you can combine the biscuit with your favorite cream or whatever you like.
Ingredients:
Basic mixture:
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 15 g of sugar (0,5 oz)
  • 60 ml of milk (1/4 cup)
  • 40 ml of oil (0,17 cups)
  • 75 g of flour (2,6 oz)
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar (10 g or 1 tbs)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (add them in the end)
Adding 1 to the basic mixture:
  • 3 egg whites
  • 50 g of sugar (1,7 oz)
  • a few drops of lemon juice
For the light parts:
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 2 tablespoons of the basic mixture
Filling (optional):
  • 2 bananas
  • 200 ml whipping cream (3/4 cup)
  • 100 g dark chocolate (3,5 oz)
  • 1 tbs nutella

Preparation:
  1. Prepare the basic mixture first. In a bowl, beat well the egg yolks and sugar with a mixer, add milk and oil  and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Add flour and vanilla sugar and stir until all ingredients are combined. Take out two tablespoons of this mixture and place them on the side. You'll use them later when preparing the light mixture.
  3. Prepare adding 1. Beat the egg whites, add several drops of lemon juice and add the sugar and mix with a mixer until you get a solid mixture. Add this mixture slowly to the basic mixture and mix well. Then add 2 tbs of cocoa powder and mix.
  4. Move to the preparation of the light mixture. Mix the egg white with the sugar, then add 1 tsp of flour and add 2 tablespoons of the basic mixture, which you have previously taken to the side. Stir well and pour this mixture into a plastic bag or a small syringe. Cut one end of the bag and using this improvised syringe you will make the treads.
  5. Draw treads on a baking paper as in the picture. I put a little oil on the baking paper before drawing. I used the baking tray from the oven.
  6. Then, put the baking tray in a heated oven at 170 degrees Celsius (340 F) for JUST 1 minute.
Remove the pan from the oven, and pour over the basic mixture and continue to bake for 15 minutes. Remove it from the oven and remove the biscuit carefully from the pan and allow it to cool (do not remove the baking sheet).
  7. When the biscuit cools, prepare the filling. Cook the whipping cream, add chocolate and nutella. Leave to cool in the fridge and to become firm.
  8. Apply the filling, set bananas and roll and carefully remove the baking paper while rolling.
    P
ut the roll back into a new baking sheet or a nylon foil and place it in the refrigerator to tighten for several hours or overnight.
