LEMON/ORANGE JUICE WITH HONEY AND CINNAMON

Do you know why the juice we buy is a little bitter and the squeezed juice is not? Because the juice is made from whole oranges, with a peel, and the squeezed orange juice not.

For the first time in my life I found unsprayed oranges, growing in the yard in a seaside place. So for this recipe I used whole oranges, and I peeled the lemons with a potato peeler and removed a thin layer from the surface. If you have homemade lemons, use them whole. This drink is a real Vitamin C source.

Ingredients:

  • 5 lemons
  • 2 oranges
  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey
  • cinnamon as desired
  • water about 600 ml

Preparation:

  1. First, grind the lemons and oranges with water in 2 rounds with a food processor or a blender.
  2. Then strain the mixture through a strainer. The process is a bit slow and tedious, but worth it.
  3. The resulting liquid will be thick and concentrated. So add water to dilute and add honey and cinnamon. Stir until the honey and cinnamon are well dissolved.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy wonderful drink.
