DON'T RE-USE THE EMPTY ICE CREAM BOXES FOR STORING FOOD, HERE'S WHY

The big plastic box left over after eating ice cream looks very handy, doesn't it? And there is a cap that is very nice, so you think it's a shame to throw it away, because you would probably find it useful to keep something for lunch or something? Or freeze some food in them?
However, plastic ice cream packs should be discarded immediately after eating or recycled because reuse can be dangerous.
The thing is in the plastic.
Empty ice cream boxes can transfer chemicals to what we put in it. These include UV stabilizers, softeners or some other substances that are found in plastic, so they can be transferred from food to plastic, experts explain.

Especially when boxes are washed with warm water, then you put food in it that has a different composition than ice cream and that can 'corrode' the plastic.

The ice cream in the box is safe, the food is not.

Manufacturers guarantee a carefree consumption of ice cream in the box, but when it is emptied, remember this well, the box must be disposed of. It is better to obtain special plastic containers made of plastic that is safe for food storage and which you can use multiple times.

Instead you can re-use the boxes by making crafts. Examples on the following link
