TORTILLA BUREK WITH SPINACH AND WHITE CHEESE (10 min recipe)

If you're craving for zelnik or burek with spinach and cheese, but you don't know how to make it or you don't wanna wait to make it, tortillas are an ideal solution. Fast, delicious, in 10 minutes you will have a ready-made tortilla burek. And it won't be greasy at all nor make you feel heavy. Use bought tortillas, you can get a 6 or 8 pack in every store. The ingredients are for 1 tortilla but I assume 2 will  be enough for anyone.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tortilla
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • about 50 g of crumbled white cheese (or feta or ricotta)
  • butter for tortilla coating

Preparation:

  1. Fry the spinach on a little butter just to soften and add the crumbled cheese. Fry briefly and mix.
  2. Then take the tortilla and cut it till half (like drawing a radius of a circle). 
  3. Place the filling on three quarters of the tortilla and then fold it as in the picture. 
    Flip one side (where there is no filling)

    Flip again

    Ready!

  4. Put tortilla in a frying pan to bake, flip it over and coat upper side with butter. Bake the other side, flip again and coat the other side with butter as well. Flip 2 more times if necessary until tortilla gets beautiful golden color. 

  5. Serve warm and enjoy!
