PRINCESS DONUTS (PROFITEROLES OR CREAM PUFFS)

One of my favorite desserts which makes me feel like a princess :) Adorable, easy to prepare, I present you their majesty - princess donuts!


Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 250 g flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup cooking oil

For filling:

  • 250 g butter
  • 1 liter milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3 packages pudding (usually vanilla)
  • 8 tablespoons sugar
  • a little powdered sugar and chocolate topping

Preparation:

  1. Put water in a deeper container and put on fire to boil, then gradually add the cooking oil, then the flour and stir constantly to avoid lumps.
  2. Remove mixture from fire and add the eggs one at a time, stir with a mixer.
  3. Coat baking pan with butter and using a spoon put small quantities from the mixture with the size as on picture (use a tulumba syringe if you have one) and make sure they are separated so they won't stick to each other (they rise a lot when baking).
  4. Bake at 250 degrees until golden. Do NOT open oven while baking.
  5. Prepare filling in the meantime. Boil milk, add pudding, sugar and egg yolks and cook for several minutes. Leave to cool and add the softened butter. Mix with a mixer until creamy.
  6. Cut baked donuts in half horizontally and fill with the prepared cream. Close and sprinkle with powdered sugar and add chocolate topping if desired.
